Access

statement

There is currently no provision for wheelchair access, as there are steps at both the front and rear of the building. Those with limited mobility may find entry difficult. If you have limited mobility and are thinking of paying a visit, please get in touch and the team will be happy to discuss access further with you.

Address:

50 SAINT PAULS ROAD, Bristol, BS8 1LP

The Bristol Improv Theatre is located very close to lots of major transport networks, and the easiest way to get to the venue is via walking or bus. Please see below for more information on the different ways to get to the theatre.

Foot:

If you are lucky enough to live close by then it is recommended to walk. The theatre is located at 50 St Pauls Road, BS8 1LP.

Bike:

The Improv Theatre is located on St. Paul’s Road, just off Whiteladies Road. There is plenty of bicycle parking at the Richmond Building (Queens Road) or at the side of Saint Paul’s Church.

Bus:

The No. 8 stops on the adjacent road by the Victoria Rooms, and the No. 9 stops directly outside. Catch them from Redland, Bristol Temple Meads Train Station and the City Centre. All buses stopping at ‘Triangle West’ are available; the theatre is a 5 minute walk from there.

Train:

The Theatre is a 10 minute walk away from Clifton Down Train Station. Just head down Whiteladies Road and turn right onto St Paul’s Road.

Car:

Unfortunately there is no onsite parking, however there is street parking and multistorey parking nearby.

The theatre is a 5 minute walk from the West End car park in Berkley Place, just off the Clifton Triangle, or a 15 minute walk from the Clifton Down car park. Finding parking in the surrounding streets can be challenging, and may be some walk away. It is recommended to give an extra half hour travel time if you are planning to look for on-street parking.

Safespace policy & Code of Conduct

At the Bristol Improv Theatre, we are committed to creating spaces where difference is celebrated and everyone has a right to be accepted, encouraged and respected.

We strive to actively make positive change through a continuous collaborative process with those we work with, with clear feedback channels and our General Code of Conduct.

If you are aware of someone breaking these guidelines, have a concern or complaint, or have been made to feel unsafe, please let us know so that we can take action. You can:

  • Speak to any member of staff or any Theatre School instructor.
  • Email [email protected] to reach our safespace officers (Stephen Clements and Amy Iles).
  • Complete our anonymous reporting form, monitored by these safespace officers.

All concerns and complaints will be confidential and consent will be sought before further action is taken. We welcome feedback and there will be no repercussions for anyone who raises concerns.

Student Code of Conduct and Class Guide

We also have a Student Code of Conduct. This document sets out expectations of behaviour specific to students attending Bristol Improv Theatre courses, classes, and workshops. It doesn’t replace the general code of conduct that applies to everyone at the Bristol Improv Theatre.

It is supported by our Student Class Guide which will help you make the most out of taking part in our classes. We aim to make our classes as safe, welcoming, and enjoyable for everyone who wants to attend.
