Drop-Ins & Taster Sessions

If you're looking for a flexible way to learn with us at Bristol Improv Theatre without committing to regular weekly sessions, we offer a range of classes you can dip in and out of.

We're proud to provide a variety of ways to engage with our teaching for all ability levels. From complete beginners, looking to build their confidence or learn a new skill, to experienced improvisers who want to expand their range and dive into new territories.

Improv Drop-Ins

Our improv drop-ins are weekly sessions that focus on building up specific improv skills and practising scenework to help you become a well-rounded improviser. They are an ideal way to engage with the Bristol Improv Theatre's classes if you aren't able to commit to a longer course but still want your improv fix!

Our drop-ins run every Monday evening and alternate between scene workshops and classes focused on specific skills to help you pad out your improviser's tool-kit.

These sessions are mixed ability, but we do recommend that you have attended at least a Taster Session before coming to a drop-in.

Improv Taster Sessions

Our Taster Sessions are the way to dip your toe into the world of improv if you're not sure where to start. These short sessions provide an introduction to improvisation that is gentle, welcoming, supportive and ultimately, a lot of fun!

Our instructors will guide you through various games and exercises throughout the afternoon that touch on some of the fundamental skills of improvisation. You'll have the chance to get creative and practice being spontaneous while connecting with others in the space.

These classes usually run on the last Saturday of every month from 2pm to 4pm. They are facilitated by either one or two of our experienced improv instructors and are capped at 20 participants.
