Saturday 23rd March | 15:30 – 18:00 | Theatre
In Scenes from Truth, we practise bringing authenticity, truth and rich moments to improvised scenes and stories. Using techniques inspired by practitioners including Nadine Antler (Wurzberg Improv), Jason Shotts (IO Chicago) and Sandford Meisner, we explore the freedom which can come when we give ourselves permission to use our own lives and memories as a starting point.
Skills we’ll cover include:
- Accelerating connection with performers and audiences
- Weaving autobiographical material into improvisation
- Acting truthfully under imaginary circumstances
If you’ve been improvising for a while and want to bring truth, authenticity and groundedness to your skillset or if you are a performer new to improv who is craving a gentle way in, this class is for you.
