Get ready for a takeover!
Bristol Longform Comedy (BLC) are set to take over the Bristol Improv Theatre with an exciting night dedicated to the very best in local longform improv. This special event, known as the Bristol Longform Takeover, offers audiences a unique opportunity to experience a diverse line-up of shows. You can expect to see some of Bristol’s most beloved improv teams, alongside up-and-coming experimental troupes who bring fresh energy and inventive ideas to the stage. The evening also features the Takeover Team—an ensemble specially assembled and trained for just one performance, promising unpredictable and electrifying theatre.
BLC is a vibrant, community-driven organisation committed to spotlighting American-Style Longform Improv here in Bristol. Unlike traditional plays, American Longform involves creating a continuous, unscripted performance built around a single suggestion from the audience. The result is a show that unfolds much like a series of interconnected sketches, full of wit, spontaneity and laugh-out-loud moments. Whether you’re an improv aficionado or completely new to the art form, you’re encouraged not just to watch, but to get involved and experience the thrill of improvisation first-hand.
First Act – Neon Blossoms
Join Ben and Laurence as they step into the unknowable and unpredictable world of Neon Blossom. What show will unfold? Even they won’t know, as they probe the audience and shine a neon light on the darkest, weirdest seedlings of our minds.
Second Act – The Takeover Team
Third Act – Last Day on Earth
Featuring performers from This Is Your Musical, Up The Antics & After Dusk, the improvised twilight zone, Last Day on Earth have travelled all over the country with their chaotic, hilarious comedic style and consistently delivers premium laughter.
