QUIZ: Which show you should come to – back to school edition

September is nearly upon us, which can only mean one thing: another month of amazing improv events! (And you need to stock up on scented gel pens!)

Put your thinking caps on – it’s time to get schooled on some highlights from our September programme.

Spoiled for choice? No problem! Take our quiz to help you choose which show you should come to, based on your favourite piece of back-to-school stationery.

To see all the exciting events we have coming up, head to the ‘Upcoming Shows’ section of our website.

Pencil case: Bristol Longform Takeover

What’s even better than pens, rubbers and a protractor? The Bristol Longform Takeover! Bristol Longform Comedy will be taking charge of our stage, to showcase some fab local improv groups. Featuring Beansville, Jazz Police and the Takeover Team.

Water bottle: The Noise Next Door – Freewheeling

If you’ve got a thirst for some as-seen-on-TV ‘comedy gold’ ( the Guardian), then come and take a sip of ‘Freewheeling’! A new show from the Noise Next Door, based on your weirdest and wildest ideas. Tickets are selling fast for this one, so don’t hang around!

Notebook: Tales of Adventure

Are you ready for an epic fantasy adventure that hasn’t even been written yet?! Join our heroes in their exciting quest, improvised live before your very eyes. Inspired by a certain popular role playing game (which we can’t mention by name for copyright reasons).

Backpack: Make the Audience Care – with Maria Peters

Technically this one isn’t a show, but a brilliant improv course! It wouldn’t be a back-to-school quiz without some theatre school fun. Join Maria Peters to learn how to grab the audience, and compel them to pay attention. You’ll come away with enough improv tricks to fill a whole school bag!

Pen: The Awkward Guide to Friendship

Looking to make some friends, but feeling too awkward? Here’s a top tip: ask to borrow a pen, and then bring them along to the Awkward Guide to Friendship! House of Figs brings you their new work featuring improv, original songs and immersive soundscapes.

To book tickets to a show or course, head to the ‘Upcoming Shows’ section of our website.
