In this class, we will look to connect with, and deepen, your relationship with your inner clown and how this applies to improvised theatre and comedy.
Skills explored:
- Using clowning to deepen connection with audience and fellow performers
- Embodied and physical improvisation
- Using mischief and joy as a starting point for freedom on stage
- Overriding the inner critic
By the end of this class you will be rolling and giggling your way back out into the world.
Great for anyone looking to build their confidence with public speaking or their relationship with their inner child.
Loose, comfortable clothes recommended for physical work.
Suitable for all experiences.
Instructor Bio
Imo Palmer has 12+ years of experience as a facilitator and performer, having trained with the world-leading Impro Melbourne and at Howard Fine’s Acting Studio (Melbourne).She/they is the Artistic Director of critically acclaimed theatre company The Delight Collective and leader of The Bristol Improv Theatre’s workplace & education training offer, which has featured in the Sunday Times. Imo is a HCPC registered Dramatherapist, meaning she’s experienced in creating inclusive and empowering learning environments for all abilities.
