The Improv Spotlight proudly showcases the diverse skills of local troupes and artists within the Bristol improv community. Every show features unique acts from the vibrant world of unscripted comedy, with a focus on up-and-coming acts, providing a stage for fresh and unique shows.
This month, under the spotlight, we present the improvised movie dissection 'Fairly Non-Bio' and explore a theme across time in 'Storm Compass'.
In Fairly Non-Bio, a panel of filmmakers at a biopic film’s premiere discuss and dissect the scenes of their film, along the way discovering that maybe it’s not quite as good as they’d hoped. In fact, the film is nonsensical. As if the script was made up on the spot.
Based on a true improvised story.
Love, loss, hope, regret… The characters may change, but some stories stay the same across time, connecting us to a human core.
Inspired by the 3-hour epic movie Cloud Atlas, but rewritten on the fly in just 45 minutes. Award-winning improvisers Real Positive Poles present a series of interconnected stories set across time, from the Stone Age to the far future and everything in between.
No prior knowledge required; in fact, we actively recommend against it.
