We are closed: Updated coronavirus response

As of yesterday, the UK government has advised everyone to stay away from pubs, clubs and theatres. They have not directly told us to close but the message is clear – these places are no longer considered safe for public health.

Our building plays host to a huge number of people: audiences, artists, students, instructors and staff. Their health and wellbeing is our first priority, and as such we are closing our venue effective today (Tuesday 17th March).

We are a small organisation that supports ten members of staff, and hundreds of freelance artists. This decision will be devastating to our operations and we don’t know when it will end.

For us, improvisation is about telling stories and connecting with other people. The world needs that now more than ever.  We are going to be responding to this crisis creatively – we plan to live stream shows, run drop in classes over video meetups, and release podcasts to keep you entertained in your homes. If you think of something you’d like us to do, tell us – we’re all going to have a lot more time on our hands.

If you are able, please donate to help us keep this organisation running. We will use every penny you give us to pay our staff and keep supporting artists.

Thank you and take care,

Caitlin, Mike & Stephen
