Then our drop-ins are for you! \nOur drop-ins run every Monday evening and alternate between scene workshops and classes focused on specific skills to help you pad out your improvisers tool-kit. \nDuring our scene workshops\, you’ll receive supportive and constructive side-coaching\, tailored to the group and designed to develop your confidence and improvisation skills. On the other hand\, the regular drop-ins will take a specific skill and explore it through games\, exercises and scenes. \nFacilitated by an experienced Bristol Improv Theatre instructor\, drop-ins are a great chance to try improv at Bristol Improv Theatre and connect with others. \nAny questions\, please don’t hesitate to get in touch at theatreschool@improvtheatre.net. \nIf you are brand new to improv\, you may prefer to try the monthly Improv Taster Session. \nIf you have any accommodations or access needs\, please let us know at theatreschool@improvtheatre.net. American Longform is a continuous improvised piece inspired by an audience suggestion\, structured like sketch comedy\, rather than a play. \nTheir takeover will show you the wide range of wonderful improv Bristol has to offer. There will be two established groups and the Takeover Team: a community troupe created just for the night. \nCome along for an evening jam-packed with entertainment and comedy! \nAct One: Pressure Cooker\nA hilarious improvised restaurant show cooking up stories based on audience suggestions! \nAct Two: The Takeover Team\nThe Takeover Team is an assortment of improvisers from the community who have assembled for just one show. Join us at The Bristol Improv Theatre for a weekend afternoon to watch various different groups from the local Bristol improv community\, and watch or join in with a Jam. For free! \nThese groups could be showcasing brand new shows\, formats\, changes to existing shows or just simply be getting in more practice. You’ll also have a chance to provide valuable feedback and help shape the shows’ futures. \nThe Improv Lab is hosted in the bar of the Bristol Improv Theatre. The bar will be open so come on in and enjoy a drink with an afternoon of free shows and a Jam. \nDoors open at 2pm and the first show will go on at 2.20pm. When arriving\, please head straight to the bar and grab a seat. Groups may be warming up at the back of the room before the show and during the interval. \nFor the May Lab we have: \n\nLe Ponde – The house group that you could be in! A whimsical show about the interconnected lives of creatures and denizens of a pond.\nThe Spontaneous Gentlemen of Verona – We are a band of travelling Shakespearian actors\, who have lost our script! We will therefore have to create a piece in the style of the bard that will offer comedy\, tragedy and all manner of Elizabethan improv.\nStorm Compass – Award-winning improvisers Real Positive Poles present a series of interconnected stories set across time\, from the stone age to the far future and everything in between. Creators of After Dusk ‘a beautiful demonstration of everything that improvised performance can be’  ★★★★★ – Reviews Hub. ‘Incredibly funny and intensely engaging’ – Brighton Seagull\nFinishing off the afternoon with a Jam! Using a mix of exercises/side-coaching I’ll encourage you to explore characters\, find where you shine\, and make strong choices. Along the way there may be the chance to work on any individual improv challenges you’re struggling with at the moment too. \n A playful 3 hours that will (supportively) push you outside of your comfort zone.  \nInstructor Bio \nSusan Harrison is a longstanding member of Olivier Award winning Showstopper! The Improvised Musical who she performs with on the West End. She also improvises with Mischief Movie Night and has guested with Austentatious\, Paul Merton & Suki Webster\, and the legendary Comedy Store Players.  \nShe teaches/has taught for; Hoopla\, Mountview\, GSA\, ALRA\, The Bridge\, The Actors Centre\, as well as at improv festivals in Ireland\, Scotland and Rome. \nShe is passionate about creating a supportive and playful learning environment. \n“Susan Harrison has a very tactical approach.
