For questions not relating to the venue\, please get in touch with the Bristol Shakespeare Society. \nShakespeare meets the Bullingdon Club\, here’s the Taming of the Shrew like you’ve never seen it before! With pompous school boys\, overbearing fathers and one trailblazing\, rule-breaking woman\, prepare to be transported to the whimsical setting of the British upper class for a night like no other. \n\nEveryone wants to marry the beautiful Bunty\, right?! Well\, it’s not as easy as it seems when you have Katherine as your big sister who says a big ‘NO’ to any man’s expectations. Tensions rise when their dad declares a ban on Bunty’s marriage until Katherine is wed\, catapulting us into a world of passion\, pursuing and power dynamics\, with a dash of comedy thrown in the mix too. \n\nOver the course of one evening\, our ten talented actors explore the themes of love\, oppression and the place of a woman in a man’s world. Who\, at the end of it all\, will gain Bunty\, and will Katherine remain untamed? Join us at the Bristol Improv Theatre on April 24th and 25th to find out!

DESCRIPTION:Friday 26th April | 20:00 (doors open 19:30)\nGet ready for a takeover!  \nBristol Longform Comedy will be taking charge of the Bristol Improv Theatre to show you the wide range of wonderful improv troupes Bristol has to offer.  \nBristol Longform Comedy (BLC) is a community-oriented group who shines a light on American-Style Longform Improv. American Longform is a continuous improvised piece inspired by an audience suggestion\, structured like sketch comedy\, rather than a play. \nTheir takeover will show you the wide range of wonderful improv Bristol has to offer. There will be two established groups\, The Groundhogs and Last Day On Earth\, and the Takeover Team: a community troupe created just for the night. \nCome along for an evening jam-packed with entertainment and comedy! \nThe Groundhogs\nMaking waves on the Bristol comedy circuit\, these mischief-makers are off to the Big City with their own brand of improvised deja-vu. First they’ll improvise a comedy sketch for you. Then they’ll repeat it. Then they’ll repeat it again. Maybe they’ll even do it AGAIN after that. But will the sketch be exactly the same each time…? (Spoiler: It will not) \nLast Day On Earth\nThe first graduate house team of legendary improv night Parent’s Basement take a location from the audience and proceed to take us on a journey through improvised sketch and character comedy. \nFeaturing performers from: This Is Your Musical\, Up The Antics & After Dusk: The Improvised Twilight Zone\, Last Day on Earth have travelled all over the country with their chaotic\, hilarious comedic style and consistently deliver premium laughter.
