Then our drop-ins are for you! \nOur drop-ins run every Monday evening and alternate between scene workshops and classes focused on specific skills to help you pad out your improvisers tool-kit. \nDuring our scene workshops\, you’ll receive supportive and constructive side-coaching\, tailored to the group and designed to develop your confidence and improvisation skills. On the other hand\, the regular drop-ins will take a specific skill and explore it through games\, exercises and scenes. \nFacilitated by an experienced Bristol Improv Theatre instructor\, drop-ins are a great chance to try improv at Bristol Improv Theatre and connect with others. \nAny questions\, please don’t hesitate to get in touch at theatreschool@improvtheatre.net. \nIf you are brand new to improv\, you may prefer to try the monthly Improv Taster Session. \nIf you have any accommodations or access needs\, please let us know at theatreschool@improvtheatre.net. DESCRIPTION:22nd July – 26th August | Tuesdays | 19:00 – 21:30\nImprovisation happens all over the place: at work\, at home\, when you’re messing around with your mates. Whenever you do something that you didn’t plan in advance\, try something just to have a go\, or join in with something that looks fun – you’re improvising!  \nBut what about improvising in front of people on a stage? Improv as a performance can be a scary prospect\, but it can also be tremendously fun and hugely rewarding! \nFollowing on from our hugely popular Discovering Improv course\, this six-week course will immerse you in the fundamentals of improvising for an audience through games\, exercises\, and scenes. Our experienced facilitators will guide and support you on your journey towards performing. \nIs this course for me? \nIntro to Performing is an introduction to improvisation as a performance artform\, aimed at beginners – no experience is needed! If you aren’t sure about performing\, or want to learn about improv from the beginning\, try our Discovering Improv course. \nThis is the course for you if: \n\nYou’ve completed our Discovering Improv course and want to take the next step\nYou’re new to improv and want to learn the fundamentals of improvisation for an audience\nYou learned improv elsewhere and want to start learning with the Bristol Improv Theatre School\n\n\n      \n        \n      \n    \nClass Details\nThis is a 6-week course. Sessions are held weekly (on the same evening) and last 2.5 hours. Experience in longform improv is requested\, but no musical improv or training is required\, just the willingness to jump in and have fun and collaborate! \n  \nChris Grace (He/Him) \nChris is best known as Jerry on NBC’s Superstore\, and recently appeared as Duane in Netflix’s The Residence. He has created and performed two acclaimed solo comedy shows: Chris Grace As Scarlett Johansson (now a filmed special on Dropout) and Sardines. He tours internationally with Baby Wants Candy and UCB\, and appears frequently on Dropout. This August\, he’ll debut a new project at the Edinburgh Fringe called “27 Hours” in which he attempts to write a new hour-long show each day of the festival. \n

You’d be wrong… with completely made-up experts flung into chaos by unseen presentations and a group of friends battling comedically to survive an undetermined force\, this is a reunion you don’t want to miss! \n  \nHead Talks \nTake your seats for a TED-style talk like you’ve never seen before (and will never see again). This is HEAD -Talks. \n  \nAn esteemed panel of ‘experts’ are tasked to give presentations on any topic imaginable – from life-changing experiences to ground-breaking discoveries to a new invention that’s set to change the world. Whenever you do something that you didn’t plan in advance\, try something just to have a go\, or join in with something that looks fun – you’re improvising!  \nBut what about improvising in front of people on a stage? Improv as a performance can be a scary prospect\, but it can also be tremendously fun and hugely rewarding! \nFollowing on from our hugely popular Discovering Improv course\, this six-week course will immerse you in the fundamentals of improvising for an audience through games\, exercises\, and scenes. Our experienced facilitators will guide and support you on your journey towards performing. \nIs this course for me? \nIntro to Performing is an introduction to improvisation as a performance artform\, aimed at beginners – no experience is needed!
