Then our drop-ins are for you! \nOur drop-ins run every Monday evening and alternate between scene workshops and classes focused on specific skills to help you pad out your improvisers tool-kit. \nDuring our scene workshops\, you’ll receive supportive and constructive side-coaching\, tailored to the group and designed to develop your confidence and improvisation skills. On the other hand\, the regular drop-ins will take a specific skill and explore it through games\, exercises and scenes. \nIn January and February\, our themed drop-ins will tackle the topic of The Watcher at the Gate – the internal voice that criticises\, questions\, and second-guesses your thoughts and ideas. This voice is present for everyone during improvisation in varying degrees. In this series of drop-ins with Cat Murphy\, you will learn and practice techniques for overriding that voice in your mind that says “You’re not creative! Don’t make a choice! She grew up and trained in England\, first at the Oxford School of Drama then at Bath Spa University. In 2014 she moved to New York City where her main focus was developing and directing new work for both theatre and film. She also taught many different creative enrichment classes for young children and families\, as well as coaching professional actors. In 2022 Anna moved back to England and is now based in Bristol where she recently joined the teaching staff at the Bristol Improv Theatre.

In this session\, we will explore your drag personas via the use of the body in the space using various movement techniques and a tonne of fun exercises. Here we will attempt to break gender apart and you can push into every corner to find out what works for you. \nThis session is for complete beginners all the way through to those who have actor training. Whilst the improv may still be great\, there’s so much more you can add to your scenes to make them more engaging. \nIn this workshop\, we’ll explore how you can add gravitas and theatricality to your improv by inhabiting the space of the stage. We’ll look at how you can use your body to create characters\, objects or concepts\, inspired by the work of Rudolf Laban\, Jerzy Marian Grotowski and other notable practitioners. We’ll also learn some vocal warm-ups and consider the mastery of the voice. \nStagecraft is a fantastic addition to your improv toolkit. Since he started performing stand up comedy in 2012\, he has told his jokes in front of a crowd of people in the United Kingdom\, Germany\, Netherlands\, Austria\, Turkey\, Sweden\, Denmark\, France\, Serbia\, Switzerland\, Finland\, Belgium\, Iceland\, Italy\, Spain\, Ireland\, Portugal\, the Czech Republic\, Gibraltar\, Norway\, Slovakia\, Slovenia\, Croatia\, Poland\, Latvia\, Lithuania\, Luxembourg\, United Arab Emirates\, Bulgaria\, Hungary\, Ukraine and Romania. \nIn 2022\, he performed in front of over 16.000 people\, in 70 cities from 27 countries on 2 continents. Since April 2021 he’s been touring with his self produced stand up comedy shows in English throughout Europe. \nIn 2019 and 2020\, he travelled through Europe with his show called “The Trouble with Being Born Romanian” in over 30 cities.
