Then our drop-ins are for you! \nOur drop-ins run every Monday evening and alternate between scene workshops and classes focused on specific skills to help you pad out your improvisers tool-kit. \nDuring our scene workshops\, you’ll receive supportive and constructive side-coaching\, tailored to the group and designed to develop your confidence and improvisation skills. On the other hand\, the regular drop-ins will take a specific skill and explore it through games\, exercises and scenes. \nFacilitated by an experienced Bristol Improv Theatre instructor\, drop-ins are a great chance to try improv at Bristol Improv Theatre and connect with others. \nAny questions\, please don’t hesitate to get in touch at hello@improvtheatre.net. \nIf you are brand new to improv\, you may prefer to try the monthly Improv Taster Session. \nOur Improv Drop-Ins are very popular classes which regularly sell out. DESCRIPTION:6th January – 17th February | Mondays | 19:00 – 21:30\nPeople often start their journeys into improvisation by rediscovering the joys of play – there’s a pure and deeply human delight that we can get from messing around together and being silly! But how do you go from playing with each other for your own delight to entertaining an audience with fully-fledged improvised comedy and drama? \nThis seven-week course aims to equip you with the tools you need to take your improvisation to the stage by creating spontaneous and compelling scenes. You’ll explore how to make bold choices that drive a scene forward or give it a strong start\, how to build a shared world for your scene using basic mime and space-work\, and the essential ingredients that make a scene come together (or fall apart without them).  \nWho is this course for? \n\nStudents who have completed Discovering Improv & Intro to Performing Improv and want to take the next step\nPerformers who have some improv experience and want to develop their improvised scene work skills \nAnyone who has learned improv elsewhere and wants to start learning with the BIT school\n\n\n      \n        \n      \n    \nClass Details\nThis course consists of 7 sessions that last for 2.5 hours each\, and will be taught by two of our experienced facilitators. Places are capped at 12. DESCRIPTION:Thursdays | 19:00 – 22:00\n(please see dates of upcoming events below)\nImprove your improv!  \nIn your journey through improv\, it isn’t always about acquiring a new skill for your improviser’s toolkit or throwing yourself into a new and unfamiliar style of play. Sometimes you need to practise your existing skills\, polish up your play\, and get your reps in with some feedback/pointers and constructive critique from an expert. Enter the Improv Gym! \nPart rehearsal room\, part personal improv training\, the Improv Gym is a facilitated space where you can work on your skills and draw upon the expertise of our experienced teaching staff. Each session will be led by a Bristol Improv Theatre Instructor who will warm you up and set you going with exercises\, games\, and scenes that will work on the skill areas that you want to improve\, before providing individualised feedback\, coaching\, and critique to help you get to the next level. \nIf you have a particular skill or piece of work that you want to focus on\, let the instructor know and they’ll tailor your session accordingly. Two genre-defying shows that play with reality and time whilst exploring human relationships\, inspired by audience suggestions that will take on a life of their own. \nMore about the acts in this Double Bill: \nStorm Compass\nBrought to you by Real Positive Poles\, Storm Compass is an improvised genre-defying story of connection beyond lifetimes\, inspired by David Mitchell’s Cloud Atlas. \nLove. Hope. Fear. Etc… \nSome stories never change\, and some stories change all the time. It all depends on when they happen… \nReal Positive Poles present a series of interconnected stories set across time\, from the stone age to the far future and everything in between.  \nInspired by such time spanning stories as Cloud Atlas and Sea of Tranquillity but with no prior knowledge required. \nWhat Happened in the Interval\nTwo people are about to have their lives changed by the power of theatre. The show they see affects them so much that they never see the end. We find out how their lives change and answer the question of what happened in the interval. \nWhat Happened in the Interval was created as part of the Unscripted Players programme.
