DESCRIPTION:Friday 10th January | 20:00\n(Doors open 19:30)\nTake a break from the January grind with this mind-bending improv double bill! Two genre-defying shows that play with reality and time whilst exploring human relationships\, inspired by audience suggestions that will take on a life of their own. \nMore about the acts in this Double Bill: \nStorm Compass\nBrought to you by Real Positive Poles\, Storm Compass is an improvised genre-defying story of connection beyond lifetimes\, inspired by David Mitchell’s Cloud Atlas. \nLove. Hope. Fear. Etc… \nSome stories never change\, and some stories change all the time. It all depends on when they happen… \nReal Positive Poles present a series of interconnected stories set across time\, from the stone age to the far future and everything in between.  \nInspired by such time spanning stories as Cloud Atlas and Sea of Tranquillity but with no prior knowledge required. \nWhat Happened in the Interval\nTwo people are about to have their lives changed by the power of theatre. The live show is totally improvised using your suggestions to weave the story world. Follow the dream-like adventures of our main character\, “you”\, way out into the shadowy long grass\, where singing animals and entities and uncanny characters reside. \nThe Bish Bosh Bash and Friends Presents: Story Smash\nFour directors\, only one winner. SUMMARY:Tales From The Wasteland: Post-Apocalyptic Improv
DESCRIPTION:Friday 23rd May | 20:00\n(Doors open 19:30)\nTales From The Wasteland is an improvised post-apocalyptic adventure comedy. This twisted and talented cast of wastelanders will take a single suggestion from you and craft an entire narrative show with no pre-prepared characters\, story or dialogue. \nIf the world was ending\, what would be the one thing you’d want to survive? Join us as we explore a new world and find out what’s left over after Earth’s devastation. Expect raiders\, mutants and violence over scarce resources in this absurd dark comedy inspired by classics of the genre such as Mad Max\, The Last of Us and Fallout. \nWarning: this show tends to have dark themes\, violence and cannibalism. Seriously\, cannibalism comes up way too often. \n“I’m still reeling at how such an intricate tale was woven on the spot\, it’s truly a gift this cast has been blessed with.” – Obscure Reviews \nWITH SUPPORT FROM: The Red Room\nImmerse yourself in a David Lynch inspired show\, depicting a quant middle-american town where the spectre of death has passed through and torn apart the lives of each and every member of this community. Hearts break\, hopes are born and passions ignite for these souls touched by loss. \nFor your viewing pleasure: an absurd and entirely improvised experience that will expose you to both the comedic highs and the tragic lows of these all too human characters. \nContent Warning: May contain descriptions of death and other adult themes.

SUMMARY:Time Warp Double Bill
DESCRIPTION:Friday 27th June | 20:00 – 22:00\n(Doors open 19:30)\nEver thought that an improv show was a little too linear? \nIn this show bill two acts mix it up\, playing with time in their own unique ways. \nThe Groundhogs\nThe Groundhogs originated as part of Bristol Longform Comedy and are icons of Bristol’s longform improv scene. SUMMARY:Tales From The Wasteland: Post-Apocalyptic Improv
DESCRIPTION:Saturday 20th September | 20:00 – 22:00\n(Doors open 19:30)\nTales From The Wasteland is an improvised post-apocalyptic adventure comedy. \n“They have the audience in stitches\, thanks to sharp timing and an ability to spin chaos into comedy.” – Bristol 24/7 \n“Their world-building is bewitching; conjuring a violent\, gory Mad Max vibe alongside whimsical and\, somehow\, endearing characters.” – The Everyday Magazine \nWITH SUPPORT FROM: I Don’t Know What You’ll Do This Summer\nThis summer\, a group of friends set out on the trip of their lives. But all is not well as a mysterious and yet to be determined force puts them all in peril. \nWill they blindly ignore sensible warnings from strangers in petrol stations? Why can’t they just use their phones to get help? How could anyone think this is worth a direct-to-DVD sequel? \nSee how it all goes wrong for our characters and their friendships. \nA comedy inspired by teen horror films from the 90’s and 00’s.

SUMMARY:The BLANK who BLANKED me
DESCRIPTION:Sunday 25th January 2026 | 19:00\n(Doors Open 18:00)\nLove stories are with us from a very young age\, beginning with idyllic fairy-tale romances featuring princes and princesses\, knights\, dragons\, and love that is pure\, sweet\, and true. This is not that kind of love story. \nThis is the kind of love story where passion strikes like a wrecking ball\, leaving you dazed\, confused\, and madly in love with an unaccountable asshole who does admittedly look really good climbing out of a lake in a thin white shirt… \nThink of dark romances that ruin your life\, forbidden loves that refuse to be denied (no matter how messy it gets)! \nFrom the creators of ‘Murder\, She Didn’t Write’ – The BLANK who BLANKED me is an improvised and unabashedly queer torrid romance with tongue firmly in (someone’s) cheek. Expect passion and pastiche\, high drama and low comedy\, lashings of laughter and perhaps true love.

SUMMARY:The Belltower
DESCRIPTION:Friday 30th January 2026 | 19:30\n(NEW: Bar open from 18:30)\nMiles from civilisation. Out on the fringes of the known world. Down below the deepest depths to way beyond the furthest horizon. Two men\, bound to a solemn duty\, unaware of the torturous toll about to be exacted upon them. By what exactly? Seemingly… nothing at all. \nPray\, delve with us into this unknown. Our two beleaguered performers inflict upon one another a harrowing tale of control\, isolation\, and madness. Your suggestions will take them to the remotest reaches of humanity\, pit them against one another\, and force them to finally confront themselves. \nThis entirely improvised psychological drama is loosely inspired by Robert Eggers’ 2019 film “The Lighthouse”. No prior knowledge of the movie is required or even encouraged to enjoy “The Belltower”. Contains dark themes. \nPerformed by James Cottle and Sam Addy. James also features in the post-apocalyptic “Tales From the Wasteland”\, while Sam directs and stars in the tragic political drama “Blame of Thrones”. Both perform in the David Lynch-inspired show “Red Room”. \nSUPPORT ACT:\nReal Positive Poles present “After Dusk: The Improvised Twilight Zone”\nYou walk into a play\, but none of the actors have learned their lines\, because there are none. This show hasn’t been written yet. A nightmare or a dream? Who’s to say? Up ahead\, there’s a sign. We take a turn through your imagination and arrive at your final destination: An improvised twist on The Twilight Zone! \nAccompanied by a live musician\, some of Bristol’s best improvisers create a brand-new episode of the classic science fiction show which inspired Black Mirror. Suitable for all levels of nerdiness and Twilight Zone knowledge\, including none! \n★★★★★ “A beautiful demonstration of everything that improvised performance can be” – The Reviews Hub \n“Quirky\, offbeat and hilarious” – Swindon Fringe Review \n“Absolutely perfect improv” – Starburst Magazine
