SUMMARY:The Improv Lab
DESCRIPTION:Saturday 22nd November | 14:00 – 17:00\nWelcome to The Improv Lab! Join us at The Bristol Improv Theatre for a Saturday afternoon to watch various groups from the local Bristol improv community. For FREE! \nThese groups could be showcasing brand new shows\, formats\, changes to existing shows or just simply be getting in more practice. You’ll also have a chance to provide valuable feedback and help shape the shows’ futures. \nThe Improv Lab is hosted in the bar of the Bristol Improv Theatre. The bar will be open\, so come on in and enjoy a hot or cold drink with an afternoon of free shows and an improv jam where you can join in. \nDoors open at 2pm and the first show will go on at 2.20pm. When arriving\, please head straight to the bar and grab a seat. Groups may be warming up at the back of the room before the show and during the interval. \n  \nFor November’s Lab\, we have:\n\nChannel Hoppers – A fast-paced\, dynamic improv comedy show\, loosely inspired by the hit TV format Gogglebox. Audience suggestions drive what is performed on the TV\, interspersed with viewers’ reactions\, who wield the ultimate control: they can pause\, rewind\, or fast-forward the action\, forcing instant\, often hilarious\, adjustments from the performers. Changing channels brings a cast rotation and a fresh mix of relationships and comedic connections.\nBlame of Thrones – A gripping political court drama! This royal court is teeming with Machiavellian schemers\, each vying for power. As the Monarch lingers on their deathbed\, who will outmanoeuvre the rest to become the all-powerful successor?\nTales From The Wasteland – Shelter from the nuclear winter inside the safety of our bunker and listen to tales from storytellers from across the wasteland! These tales may feature raiders\, mutants\, adventure\, and\, of course\, will be entirely made up on the spot\, fueled by your suggestions! This absurd dark comedy is inspired by shows such as Fallout and Mad Max.\nUp The Antics’ Christmas Playlist is the new show by the award-winning Bristol-based Sketch and Improv Group. The Antics will perform scenes and sketches inspired by a playlist of festive bangers submitted by you\, the audience!\n– “Brilliantly Witty” EdFringeReview\n– Leicester Square Sketch Off Semi-Finalists\n– Best Episodic – International Comedy Film Festival\n\n  \nIf you have a show that you would like to bring to the lab\, or if you’d like to get involved as a cast member\, director\, photographer or host please email bristolimprovlab@gmail.com or fill in this form with details of the show. To be selected\, the majority of the show must involve improvisation \nTickets are ‘Pay What You Decide’. All funds go straight back into supporting Bristol Improv Theatre\, providing more community events like this one!

SUMMARY:Breathwork for Stress Release - Free Session
DESCRIPTION:Thursday\, 19 March 2026 | 18:00 – 19:30\nCome and join us for a FREE Conscious Connected Breathwork session to alleviate the stress and tension that arises from modern\, busy lives. \nIn collaboration with Becky and Suki from Culture Kick Ltd\, we are excited to be hosting a FREE Conscious Connected Breathwork session to encourage more people to try what is an impactful and energising practice. \nWhat is Conscious Connected Breathwork? \nA unique style of breathwork using a deep\, circular mouth-in\, mouth-out pattern\, staying consciously engaged with each inhale and exhale. Sessions are facilitator-led in music-guided rounds with breath retentions. This empowering session will finish with a guided themed visualisation while people relax deeply. \nWhat are the benefits? \nModern life is busy and often overwhelming. Breathwork offers a chance to pause\, reconnect with your body\, and release tension\, stored emotions\, or stagnant energy\, leaving you feeling physically and emotionally lighter. It can help you feel more resilient\, with greater capacity\, clarity\, focus\, and calm\, both at work and at home. Over time\, it also supports a deeper connection with yourself and strengthens your sense of self-trust and self-leadership. \nWhat is the structure of the session? \nThe session begins with a brief introduction to Conscious Connected Breathing\, a demonstration of the pattern\, and time for questions. You’ll then get comfortable lying down with eyes closed\, followed by a short grounding exercise. Then move into 2–3 rounds of breathing to music\, with optional guided breath retentions and finish with a guided visualisation and reading while you relax deeply to music.  \nWhat do I need for the session? \nYou’ll need to lie down\, so bring a yoga mat or something similar\, plus anything that helps you feel comfortable – pillows\, a blanket\, and comfortable\, non-restrictive clothing. Have some water on hand and come with an open mind.  \nThis style of breathwork is for adults aged 18 and over only. \nBreathwork can result in intense physical\, emotional\, and energetic release. Therefore\, it is not advised for individuals with any of the following conditions: \n\nCardiovascular conditions\, including angina\, previous heart attacks\, or pacemakers\nHigh blood pressure\nGlaucoma or retinal detachment\nEpilepsy or seizure disorders\nA personal or family history of aneurysms\nSevere or chronic mental health conditions (unless with prior Dr approval)\nOsteoporosis or any condition exacerbated by intense movement or breathing\nRecent major surgeries or physical injuries\nCurrently taking major medications that impair physical or emotional regulation\nPregnant women are advised not to do this form of breathwork without first consulting and receiving approval from Dr.\nIndividuals with asthma should consult with their Dr and inform the breathwork facilitator before participating. Inhalers must be brought to the session.
