Meet the Improv & Drama Summer School Team!
Imogen Palmer is a theatre-maker, performer & director who has been working with younger audiences since 2013.
She is a drama tutor at Redmaids High School and has ran workshops for National Youth Theatre, North Wall Arts Centre and St Werburgh’s Farm Festival. She is the Artistic Director of theatre company The Delight Collective and the Theatre School Manager of the Bristol Improv Theatre.
Imogen loves to bring her enthusiasm for theatre-making to her work with young people and using improvisation & devising to help students build confidence in storytelling and collaboration. She has taught masterclasses for schools on on topics including Public Speaking, Interview Skills, Commedia Dell’arte, script-writing and physical comedy. She is trained in safeguarding and first aid.
Beth Kerridge has worked with children in educational and play-based settings for over 10 years. She has a degree in Education.
Beth is also an improviser and performer with Bristol theatre companies such as Up the Antics (a sketch and improv group), This Is Your Musical (an improvised musical theatre show) and others. She has been training in improvised theatre for 6 years and has been coached by the likes of Patti Styles (Loose Moose Theatre), Holly Mandel (LA Groundlings, Improvolution), Susan Harrison, Duncan Atkins and Andrew Pugsley (The Showstoppers) and the Bristol Improv Theatre school.
From children’s playgroups, to teaching whole classes in schools and performing on stage, Beth is very much looking forward to combining her two life-passions and show children, young people and families the magic of improvised theatre.
Beth is a qualified primary school teacher with a performing background.
She has been improvising since 2015 and trained with Vancouver TheatreSports and Instant Theatre Company in Vancouver, Canada and performed with numerous improv groups in the city for two years. Since moving to Bristol, she has played in ‘Pick Your Own Fairytale’ – an improv show for kids- and is assistant director and cast member of ‘The Bish Bosh Bash!’
Beth has a degree in Physical Theatre and is passionate about discovering connections through play.
Gill has worked in theatre and drama all her life. After gaining an MA in Drama and Theatre Studies from Royal Holloway in 2001 she became a secondary drama teacher and worked in education until 2013.
She established Brave Bold Drama in 2013 and became a freelance drama practitioner, delivering workshops initially in children’s centres, schools and care homes. In 2015 Brave Bold Drama became a theatre company and has been a registered Community Interest Company since 2017. Gill writes music and designs sound for the company and is instrumental in devising new work. She also develops Brave Bold Drama’s community and education outreach.
Gill is also a freelance performer, facilitator, producer, composer and musician. She has worked as a musical director for Kilter Theatre Company, composed for Knapsack Productions and has produced for Soap Soup Theatre Company. She is trained in Safeguarding and First Aid.
Paul is a professional Actor, Theatre Maker and Workshop Facilitator. He has toured nationally, performing at the Pleasance Dome (Edinburgh Fringe), Greenwich Theatre & VAULT Festival. He co-runs award-winning Bristol based theatre & community arts company Brave Bold Drama CIC alongside Gill Simmons. Brave Bold Drama makes multi-sensory theatre work for a younger audience and designs & facilitates participatory community engagement projects across the city.
He has amassed nine years of experience as a Drama Workshop Facilitator specialising in devising, improvisation, vocal health and LAMDA examinations. He has worked on a range of projects in conjunction with theatre companies, dance schools and in Primary/Secondary schools throughout the South West.
He is also a qualified Arts Award Advisor, Vocal Health First Aider with Voice Health Education and registered Child Chaperone with Bristol City Council.
