International Women’s Day Casting Call Out

Read this post to find out how to apply for our International Women’s Day show!

ABOUT THE SHOW

If These Walls Could Talk is the latest production by the Delight Collective in collaboration with the Bristol Improv Theatre.

We are looking for a diverse cast of open-minded and playful female-identifying people who would be interested in researching and sharing the stories of their grandmothers, mothers and themselves as part of an interactive theatre show which will be performed on Saturday 7th March as part of the International Women’s Day Show at the Bristol Improv Theatre.

If These Walls Could Talk is based on a format originally conceived by Amy Moule (Impro Melbourne). Inspired by the audience’s responses to collages about the lives of women in 1920, 1980 and 2020, we will see improvised scenes taking place in the same location in each of these years. The focus will be on authentic, heart-warming and honest improvised storytelling and acting.

No performance or improvisation experience needed.

Training will be provided as part of the rehearsal period.
Availability for the full rehearsal period and a willingness to play and discover is preferred.

We welcome applications from anyone who identifies as female and particularly encourage LGBT+ and BAME people to apply.

ABOUT THE THEATRE

The Bristol Improv Theatre was founded in 2012 by a group of improvised performers, artists and theatre-makers. Our mission is to be an institution of spontaneous, collaborative, and creative theatre, a resource for ambitious artists and audiences, and a home for all those whom improvised work touches. In 2017, the BIT relaunched its temporary venue on St. Paul’s Road, Clifton as a full-time theatre space. Our newly refurbished, 100-seat, multi-space venue is the first permanently established theatre for improvised performance in the UK.
