Longform Improv Workshop

Tuesday 10th April 8pm - 10pm

This event is now over. Check the What's On for upcoming events!

The Bristol Longform Improv Workshop is a weekly drop-in for improvisers who are interested in American-style longform comedic improvisation.

Workshops feature a heavy emphasis on scenework fundamentals and establishing truthful, grounded characters with fun comedic patterns.

Our drop-ins are focusing on Agreement and this workshop is looking at environments.

Ignoring a specific choice made about an environment is just as weak as ignoring a line of dialogue.

Noticing and agreeing about the space as a character allows very simple but fun scenes to emerge.

These sessions are OPEN TO ALL, but prior scenework experience and some knowledge of non-narrative longform is recommended.

Instructor

Monty Sheikh is an experienced improviser and teacher, having founded Bath Improv and joined the University of Aberdeen Improv Society as one of its first members.

Monty trains with several Bristol improv companies and teams, including The Inheritance and The Unscripted Players.
