Longform Improv Workshop
The Bristol Longform Improv Workshop is a weekly drop-in for improvisers who are interested in American-style longform comedic improvisation.
Workshops feature a heavy emphasis on scenework fundamentals and establishing truthful, grounded characters with fun comedic patterns.
Our drop-ins are focusing on Agreement and this workshop is looking at fighting in a scene.
Conflict happens a lot in good comedy but in the heat of an improv scene it will often default to a boring argument.
This workshop will demonstrate how to argue in a way that allows the actors to agree and the scene to progress.
These sessions are OPEN TO ALL, but prior scenework experience and some knowledge of non-narrative longform is recommended.
Monty Sheikh is an experienced improviser and teacher, having founded Bath Improv and joined the University of Aberdeen Improv Society as one of its first members.
Monty trains with several Bristol improv companies and teams, including The Inheritance and The Unscripted Players.
