Longform Improv Workshop

Tuesday 27th March 8pm - 10pm
  1. × £8 Standard
  2. × £6 Concession

The Bristol Longform Improv Workshop is a weekly drop-in for improvisers who are interested in American-style longform comedic improvisation.

Workshops feature a heavy emphasis on scenework fundamentals and establishing truthful, grounded characters with fun comedic patterns.

Our drop-ins are focusing on Agreement and this workshop is looking at initiating a scene. When we start scenes we want to bootstrap as much information as possible from any initiation, supporting everything implied by our scene partner.

This will focus on aggressively agreeing with any initiation to make scenes easier to play.

These sessions are OPEN TO ALL, but prior scenework experience and some knowledge of non-narrative longform is recommended.

John McInnes is a stand-up comedian, writer and improviser. He is a member of the University of Bristol's Improv Society, as well as the Unscripted Players.

He is also a frequent guest performer at Glasgow's Harold Night and last year appeared in Our Street, an Unscripted Players production at the Wardrobe Theatre.
