Longform Improv Workshop

Tuesday 20th February 8pm - 10pm
  1. × £8 Standard
  2. × £6 Concession

The Bristol Longform Improv Workshop is a weekly drop-in for improvisers who are interested in American-style longform comedic improvisation.

Workshops feature a heavy emphasis on scenework fundamentals and establishing truthful, grounded characters with fun comedic patterns.

Our drop-ins are currently focusing on Truth and this workshop is looking at Characters. We all have extensive character experience already; our family, friends and even ourselves have interesting points of view.

This drop-in will work on using these characters (rather than tropes or invented characters).

These sessions are OPEN TO ALL, but prior scenework experience and some knowledge of non-narrative longform is recommended.

Instructor

Monty Sheikh is an experienced improviser and teacher, having founded Bath Improv and joined the University of Aberdeen Improv Society as one of its first members.

Monty trains with several Bristol improv companies and teams, including The Inheritance and The Unscripted Players.
