Longform Improv Workshop
The Bristol Longform Improv Workshop is a weekly drop-in for improvisers who are interested in American-style longform comedic improvisation.
Workshops feature a heavy emphasis on scenework fundamentals and establishing truthful, grounded characters with fun comedic patterns.
Our drop-ins are currently focusing on Truth and this workshop is looking at initiating truthful base realities. Ideas which are truthful tend to be immediately relatable and much easier to play. This drop-in will work on initiating truthful scenes and how you can find games in truthful scenes.
These sessions are OPEN TO ALL, but prior scenework experience and some knowledge of non-narrative longform is recommended.
Steve Hartill is a teacher and fundraiser at the Bristol Improv Theatre and a former president of the University of Bristol Improv Society.
