Longform Improv Workshop
The Bristol Longform Improv Workshop is a weekly drop-in for improvisers who are interested in American-style longform comedic improvisation.
Workshops feature a heavy emphasis on scenework fundamentals and establishing truthful, grounded characters with fun comedic patterns.
Our drop-ins are currently focusing on Game of the Scene and this workshop is looking at show don't tell.
When you overthink "Game" it's common to begin talking a lot about unusual things rather than doing unusual things, this drop-in will try improve your ability to actively play unusual behaviors.
These sessions are OPEN TO ALL, but prior scenework experience and some knowledge of non-narrative longform is recommended.
Steve Hartill is a teacher and fundraiser at the Bristol Improv Theatre and a former president of the University of Bristol Improv Society.
