Longform Improv Workshop

Tuesday 14th November 8pm - 10pm

This event is now over. Check the What's On for upcoming events!

The Bristol Longform Improv Workshop is a weekly drop-in for improvisers who are interested in American-style longform comedic improvisation.

Workshops feature a heavy emphasis on scenework fundamentals and establishing truthful, grounded characters with fun comedic patterns.

Our current drop-in theme is Game Of The Scene, and this workshop is focused on initiating scenes with premise.

When we have an opening (e.g a monologue) we can often identify clearly comedic ideas for scenes. This drop-in will demonstrate how to initiate a scene that clearly communicates this idea and gets straight to the funny.

These sessions are open to all, but prior scenework experience and some knowledge of non-narrative longform is recommended.

Supplementary readings and videos are added weekly to the group Facebook page to support the workshops.
