Longform Improv Workshop
This event is now over. Check the What's On for upcoming events!
The Bristol Longform Improv Workshop is a weekly drop-in for improvisers who are interested in American-style longform comedic improvisation.
Workshops feature a heavy emphasis on scenework fundamentals and establishing truthful, grounded characters with fun comedic patterns.
Individual workshops will cover a wide range of longform skills, as well as sessions dedicated to exploring non-narrative formats such as The Harold, The Deconstruction, The Pretty Little Flower, and much more!
Supplementary readings and videos are added weekly to the group Facebook page to support the workshops.
These sessions are open to all, but prior scenework experience and some knowledge of non-narrative longform is recommended.
Steve Hartill is a teacher and fundraiser at the Bristol Improv Theatre and a former president of the University of Bristol Improv Society.
An experienced actor and stage coach, Steve performs with theatre company Degrees of Error, whose improvised murder-mystery play, "Murder, She Didn't Write" recently celebrated its fifth consecutive sell-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, where it was featured on BBC Radio 2.
