The Bristol Longform Improv Workshop is a weekly drop-in for improvisers who are interested in American-style longform comedic improvisation.
Workshops feature a heavy emphasis on scenework fundamentals and establishing truthful, grounded characters with fun comedic patterns.
Individual workshops will cover a wide range of longform skills, as well as sessions dedicated to exploring non-narrative formats such as The Harold, The Deconstruction, The Pretty Little Flower, and much more!
Supplementary readings and videos are added weekly to the group Facebook page to support the workshops.
These sessions are open to all, but prior scenework experience and some knowledge of non-narrative longform is recommended.
John McInnes is stand-up comedian, writer and improviser. He is a member of the University of Bristol's Improv Society, as well as the monthly No Scrubs Armando team.
He is also a frequent guest performer at Glasgow's Harold Night and last year appeared in "Our Street", an Unscripted Players production at the Wardrobe Theatre.
