Kitchen Rules Longform Drop In
The Kitchen Rules Longform Drop In is a weekly drop-in for improvisers who are interested in American-style longform comedic improvisation.
Workshops feature a heavy emphasis on scenework fundamentals and establishing truthful, grounded characters with fun comedic patterns.
Our drop-ins are focusing on Group Work and this workshop is teaching scenes where the entire troupe starts on stage immediately.
Performing a scene with 2 people is hard enough, but having nearly 8 people in the same scene can seem impossible.
With an emphasis on listening, initiations and agreement we can build one central idea as a group and pass focus in these scenes to ensure everyone looks brilliant.
These sessions are OPEN TO ALL, but prior scenework experience and some knowledge of non-narrative longform is recommended.
Monty Sheikh is an experienced improviser and teacher, having founded Bath Improv and joined the University of Aberdeen Improv Society as one of its first members.
