Free Longform Taster Session
Kitchen Rules Theatre's Longform Drop-in is a weekly workshop for improvisers who are interested in American-style longform comedic improvisation.
This session is a FREE TASTER SESSION exclusively for people who HAVE NOT been to our drop-ins before.
In a longform improv show you perform simultaneously as an actor, writer, director, editor, comedian, choreographer, stunt performer and union representative, all at the same time. Our drop-in sessions give you tangible tools to improve your abilities in all of these areas.
Even if you've never done any theatre, or you're used to a completely different style of improv than your usual, please feel free to come along and try it out.
We will teach you the basic mechanics and fundamental values of longform improv: consistent patterns of behaviour, grounded truthfulness and above all else; supporting each other on stage.
John Gallagher began performing as part of Aberystwyth University's Improv Society.
He went on to teach Improv as a tutor at the University, and has since coached and directed a number of teams in preparation for their Edinburgh Fringe shows.
He is currently touring his solo improv show, One Board Man.
