Wednesday 24th November
19:00 – 21:30 GMT
What would it be like to allow your anger? For it to be welcome in the room and for you to even play with it? Make friends with it? Use it as a tool rather than see it as a loss of control?
Not something that’s usually allowed to women!
In this workshop, we will do a series of vocal and play exercises to gently connect with, explore and release our anger. Most of this will be solo but there will be some interaction with other participants.
Since it’ll be online, there’s the added bonus of total privacy in parts of your exploration while you are held. All exercises will be an invitation so you can stop if it ever feels too much and there will be time to share our experiences with each other.
Come join us & release your angry woman!
Please note, this is not a typical improv workshop and as with all voice and play, it may be therapeutic as well as creative. Aisha will hold the space to allow whatever comes up for you.
Aisha is a vocal artist, improviser, composer, producer, facilitator and co-creator of Kiota, a collective of BIPoC artists in The South West, working towards decolonising arts spaces in Bristol. She is passionate about working with the voice and is very experienced at holding space for others to explore and express themselves.
“I really enjoyed the singing workshop with Aisha! She made us laugh and put everyone at ease- creating a warm and friendly atmosphere with lots of games and singing. It was a lovely space to come together, share connection and time together. Just what is needed during the pandemic. We even managed some harmonies over zoom! Thank you so much!” -workshop participant
Places are capped at 12. This event is for all cis and trans women, as well as non-binary people who are comfortable in a space which centres the experience of women.
