WEDNESDAY 3RD MARCH
19:30 – 21:00 GMT
Do you catch yourself apologising all the time?
Are you scared to speak up in meetings, rehearsals or social situations?
Are you scared of being called, or have you ever been called a ‘Difficult Woman?’
In this taster class, we’ll use discussion, games, improv activities & reflection to explore what it means to be unapologetic. We’ll practice interrupting unnecessary apologies for ourselves & others and practice not apologising for ourselves physically & vocally.
As Maja Jovanic speaks about in this TED talk, the default state of apologising for ourselves can erode self-esteem & confidence. Let’s stop saying sorry unnecessarily and save apologies for when they really matter.
Imogen Palmer is the Theatre School Manager and the Artistic Director The Delight Collective, creator of IMOGENÉ, The Bish Bosh Bash and International Women’s Day special ‘If These Walls Could Talk’. She began teaching improvisation whilst training full-time at the award-winning Howard Fine Acting Studio in Melbourne and performing with Impro Melbourne. She regularly tops up her training with improvisation and clown masters including Patti Stiles (Loose Moose Theatre), Deanna Fleysher (Butt Kapinsky), Jill Bernard (HUGE Theatre), the Showstoppers and Jason Shotts (IO Chicago).
